Built out of larger frames and fat tires. </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>Most always a single speed. Not like the mountain bikes of today.</B></I></div> <div> <I><B>They were a lot of fun building and riding. And within most everyone's budget.</B></I></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Built for us old guys to race. 18 to 25 year old mental cases. </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>In any case, this was the start of what we now call mountain biking.</B></I></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>BMX</B></I></div> <div> <I><B>BMX bikes had 20" frames and tires with kids at the wheel. Just barely evolved </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>out of stingray handle bars and banana seats it seemed. I remember mine.</B></I></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>The kids and the new BMX bikes had taken hold. Man those kids could ride. </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>California BMX manufacturers coming out of the wood work. </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>Motorcycle Moto-X had to do with the quick explosion of BMX. </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>It did not take any time to grow. It seemed like overnight.</B></I></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Skateboarding</B></I></div> <div> <I><B>Skateboarding was getting a good foothold also.34 years ago. </B></I></div> <div> <I><B>It was just amazing what the guys could do on a board. Tricks, Pools and Hills.  </B></I></div> <bR> <div> <I><B>Remember the 70's drought?
